Food - SS15, Subang Jaya

As i work at Subang Jaya, i shall recommend some of the good food at Subang Jaya.

Do note that this post is not a food review post, but is a more of a food recommendation post.

Thai Sauce Chicken Chop with rice with fried egg

Tried this chicken chop with rice and fried egg recently. The chicken chop is tender and i love the thai sauce, is spicy and tasty. The meat actually blend in well with the thai sauce, it wont be dry as the meat actually absorb the thai sauce.

Other than this food, the cafe actually offer lots of other Asian food. Is worth a try.

Above Cafe
Jalan SS15/4D, SS15, Subang Jaya
Weekday open from 9am-10pm, while Weekend open from 11am-10pm

Signature Pan Mee

This particular Pan Mee main ingredient is the fried fish cake. The fish cake is crunchy. While nothing to shout about the Pan Mee. People usually go for their fried fishcake.

Face to Face Noodle House
68, Jalan SS15/4D, SS15, Subang Jaya
Open everyday from 9.30am - 9.30pm

Butter Chicken Rice

The butter taste is not too rich, added together with the Serai leaf is just nice. Chicken is soft and juicy, totally absorb the butter taste. But can't eat much, you get full and 'jelak' after 1 plate of it. This is the signature dish for this restaurant.

Kafe Black and White
74, Jalan SS15/4D, SS15, Subang Jaya
Open everyday from 10am - 10.30am

Grilled Chicken Chop with Mash Potato and Vegetable

This western Grilled Chicken Chop with Mash Potato and Vegetable is delicious, rarely you can find this kind of chicken chop anymore, tender chicken. And most importantly the price is reasonable. It comes with Garlic bread and soup of the day as appetizer, dessert of the day, and hot tea or coffee, Very 'English' style.

Peppercorn Cafe
21, Jalan SS15/4, SS15, Subang Jaya
Open everyday from 8am - 3pm

Aglio Olio with Bacon

This cafe is famous with their pasta and waffle. The chef for this cafe is very generous with the ingredient, there are a lot Bacon, cheese and Chili added into the pasta. But now the cafe is close, they only do delivery.

Lee Chong Wei The Movie

Lee Chong Wei The Movie is an inspiring movie.

The movie tells the life of Lee Chong Wei from when he is small and his father does not allowed him to play badminton, to how he being trained at Bukit Mertajam, to how he manage to join BAM and to how he become world number 1 and win Lin Dan.

The lesson i learn from the movie is:

1. Be a team player, but not just a winner or champion.

2. Be determined and never give up when you want to achieve something.

 3. Don't pressure yourself too much, you can do it.

4. Life is not just about winning.

5. The road to success is long and not easy, so be persevere.

6. Everyone have their own timing in life to be success.

7. Don't let anyone affect you, believe in yourself.

8. When you lose your passion, find it back just like how you start it.

9. Don't ever find excuse to give up, because you are the only excuse to give up.

10. Don't lose hope, there will be someone that have hope on you.

Until the next post, bye.

Dining Experience with Celebrity at Nam Heong Ipoh Damen USJ

Wow, can't believe that i have a chance to dine with celebrity.

We dine at Nam Heong Ipoh Damen USJ.

It is definitely a very good experience.

After you are seated, you can start order the food you want to eat using an IPAD, very high-tech.

After you finish order food and drink, just be patience and wait for a while, the celebrity will come and join you.

You really thought is the real celebrity, don't you? But no, you are wrong, this restaurant waitress is robot by the name of the celebrity. She will serve you food. This is the future waitress, the robot era, very cool. She can talk too, in Cantonese language.

We order the egg tart as the appetizer.

The egg tart is really tasty and crispy, 蛋很滑,
挞很脆口,recommended to try if you eat at this restaurant.

Of course, the main dish for this restaurant is Chicken rice.

The chicken rice with keropok, nothing to shout about this.

The roast pork and char siew is a bit more to the fat side, i prefer mixture of lean and fat roast pork and Char Siew. But the meat is juicy, 爽口.

The price for the food is around RM 11 - RM 16 , and the price for the drink is around RM 4 - RM 10.

You can go and try the food there. After all, is not every day you get to be served by "celebrity".

Thank you for reading. See you all soon.

The Importance of water

Water is the most important substances on Earth.

We need water for daily life.

We definitely need to reflect back on how important water is when there are no water supply on these few days in some of the area in Selangor.

Without water, we can't cook, we can't bath.

We will also need to think twice if we want to go to the toilet.

I had experience the not going to toilet part as my office area does not have water these few days.

When eating, i also need to think of what to eat, but luckily the restaurant do keep some water.

According to SYABAS, the water supply will resume back on tomorrow. Hopefully, water supply really resume back on tomorrow, 11 March.

So lesson learned, do appreciate the water, don't waste it.

We always only start to appreciate something when we lost it.

Also, teach you a great way to bath and wash things when there's no water supply, just use mineral water will do. So, do remember to always stock up the mineral water.

This month i will be writing lesser at my blog here as it is a peak month for my current job. But i will try to write when i can.

Until then, Sayounara.

Personal Sharing: Education

Time really flies. Is March already.

Anyway, back to my topic today, Education.

What is education to you?

For me, education is a process of life that everyone go through in their life.

In Malaysia, we start study since 5 years old up until at least 16 or 17 years old. From Kindergarten up to high school. That's 12 years of study either at government school or private school where the education syllabus is fixed.

Of course, after high school education, most of the student will continue with tertiary education.

But what to study after high school is always a question mark.

Being an education counselor for almost 3 and half years,i'm glad that i had guide a lot of high school leaver to choose a correct pathway, a pathway that lead them to success.

My success is when the student or the student's parent look for me and share with me about their achievement.

Choosing a tertiary education is not easy, you may want to study a course that you like, but if you did not meet the entry requirement or don't like a certain subject that is a prerequisite for that course, is better for you to not taking that course. Why struggle? Can do and like to do is two totally different thing.

But you choose your future, thus choose your own course and don't let other decide for you on what course to study.

Education is not necessarily a necessity but is definitely a pathway that teach you skill like teamwork, communication, critical thinking, and creativity.

Also, education enhance your employability, you study so that you can get a good job right?

By the way, this month is the month that SPM result will be release, good luck for all the student who took SPM on last year, 2017, hope you all score with a good result.

You are welcome to contact me if you need any tertiary education advice, is for free. I do hope that i can guide more people with the knowledge i gained.

This month will be a busy month for me and all others working in education industry.

Until the next post, Au revoir.

Dinner with Family and relatives at Peninsula Chinese Cuisine

Had dinner with my family and relatives at Peninsula Chinese Cuisine at Evolve Concept Mall, Ara Damansara on Thursday, 22nd February.

My mother had been recommending this restaurant to me a lot of time as she went to eat with her friend several time.

One of their signature dish is their Sang Har Mee.

The Sang Har Mee is quite big, 4 person can share 1 bowl. It comes with two side dish, sweet and sour black fungus and Yao Mak Vegetable. The Sang Har Mee is flavourful, is tasty to eat together with the kuah. I like the river prawn, taste very fresh. This dish is a must try if you go to this restaurant.

Another signature dish is their suckling pig.

The suckling pig is crispy and can be eaten with the sauce as it is flavourful by itself.

As for soup, we order the sea cucumber and fish maw soup.

This soup is good for skin, the soup is a clear soup, quite tasty.

One more dish that worth recommend is the Spanish ribs.

The Spanish ribs meat is very tender, the sauce for the Spanish ribs is tasty.

Did not order lou sang as had eaten it few times at relative house and my house.

Overall, the food at this restaurant is worth a try. The price for the food is reasonable as well.

Below is the address of the restaurant.

Catch up and Makan-makan at New Chapters by The Owls Cafe

Catch up over lunch with my friend, Li Kee at New Chapters by The Owls Cafe on Wednesday, 21st February.

Had been hearing a lots of good reviews about this cafe, and turns out i do agree that the cafe is a cafe worth mentioning and recommend to everyone. The cafe is cozy, good for gathering with friends and family. But do avoid to come during lunch time if possible as it get very crowded during lunch time. We are lucky as we does not need to wait to get seated. My friend actually waited for about 45 minutes when she come a day before during lunch time.

Did not really took photo of the interior of the cafe. But not to worry, will do so when i visit this cafe again.

They have quite a lot of food choices ranging from all day breakfast to pasta to waffle and more. Based on review, their signature food is their waffle.

As is our first try at the cafe, we actually does not have any idea on what to order. So after looking at what other people order and after reading reviews and tips on Foursquare, below is what we order.

I order Creamy Seafood Pasta and Ice Peppermint Chocolate, while Li Kee order Smoke Duck Waffle and Rose Latte.

Creamy Seafood Pasta with a twist of Asian Curry is a good try. There are mussels, prawn, and Salmon fish in the pasta. The pasta is very special, is a combination of Asian and Western, not too spicy and not too creamy, the taste is just nice. While the Ice Peppermint Chocolate is not too sweet.

The Smoke Duck Waffle taste good as well, the smoke duck meat is juicy while the waffle is crunchy and not too soft.

This cafe is definitely worth to go again. Will try the Salmon Mentaiko Egg Benedict the next time i visit this cafe.

The food price is quite reasonable for a cafe i would say, about RM 16 to RM 25.

Anyway, this post is not a food review post, is also not an advertorial/sponsorship post. Is just a simple food sharing and lifestyle post.

If you are interested to visit the cafe, below is the location of the cafe.

New Chapter by The Owls Cafe
Calvary Convention Center Bukit Jalil
No.1, Jalan Jalil Perkasa 1, Taman Teknologi Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur
Opening Hours: 10am - 11pm

Is a great catch up with Li Kee as she is a friend that i treasure. Thankful that she always will call me out for catch up when she is back at Malaysia. When we grow older, our social circle become smaller, so i believe quality friend is better than quantity now.
